Spring 2
This half term our topic is ‘Once Upon a Time…’, where we will be diving into the wonderful world of Traditional Tales. We will begin by exploring the much-loved stories of Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs, using these tales to inspire our reading, writing, role play and creative activities.
In History, our unit ‘Adventures Through Time’ will help the children to start thinking about the past. We will explore our own family trees and begin to understand the concept of generations. The children will learn about Kings and Queens and why they are important figures, as well as discovering how transport has changed over time.
We have an incredibly busy and exciting five weeks ahead! We are very much looking forward to exploring our brand-new EYFS outdoor area - hopefully enjoying some lovely Spring sunshine as we learn and play. We will also be celebrating French Day, welcoming families to our special Mother’s Day Worship and Stay and Play session on 11th March, taking part in our whole-school Spring Poetry Festival, and learning important safety skills during Beep Beep Road Safety Day.
There is certainly lots to fit into five weeks - we can’t wait to get started!
