A busy week for Year 1!

It’s been a busy week in Year 1! ⭐

On Wednesday, Year 1 visited Clitheroe Mosque where we learnt lots about how Muslims prepare for prayer by washing and cleaning in a special room. We also discovered which direction Muslims face to pray towards Mecca and learnt about the five daily prayers. The children were excited to share what they already knew about the Mihrab from our class learning too!

We also had great fun celebrating World Book Day with some amazing costumes. The children loved meeting author Andy Edwardson and hearing all about Prickles the Hogglypot.

In Forest School this week, we enjoyed getting close to nature and making creative faces using natural materials we found around us.

To top it all off, Elm Class helped give Tiny the tortoise a bath! He was very active and tried to make a little escape, but we managed to get him clean, shiny and fresh again. 🐢

What a fantastic week of learning and fun for Year 1! 😊
