We have had a fantastic time this week getting into the Christmas spirit. We were so excited to have Santa come and visit us in Oak Class.
Week Beginning 7/12/20
Our class elf Tinsel has been having lots of fun exploring our classroom and even visiting Mrs Taylor’s office this week! The children have been producing lots of super writing about what he has done each day.
On Thursday we had a lovely surprise when two reindeers landed in our muga on their way to the North Pole. All of the children were very excited to meet Comet and Dasher and enjoyed learning some interesting reindeer facts too.
Week beginning 30/11/2020
The Christmas countdown has begun! This week the children have been busy decorating the classroom ready for Christmas. They have been reading and following instructions to make decorations as part of their literacy work and practising hard for the virtual nativity too.
Reception children have also built, painted and decorated a tree for the home corner.
The children were very excited when they arrived at school on Tuesday to find an elf sitting on Mrs Cox’s chair! He has since been found in the reading area looking at books, at the table in the home corner eating a cheese sandwich and playing with the glitter in the creative area. The Y1 children are keeping a diary of what he does each day and some Reception children have been keen to try and write about him too. We hope he doesn’t get up to too much mischief this week!
Week beginning 16/11/2020
Reception children have enjoyed learning to ride bikes this week. The children used balance bikes with some progressing to pedal bikes. Jane the instructor said they were a fantastic group of children who all tried hard, followed the instructions well and supported each other in the sessions.
Week beginning 28/9/2020
We are now beginning our Autumn topic and much of our work up to half term will be based around this theme. It would be great if you could go for a walk and encourage your child to look for and collect signs of autumn in nature. Eg conkers, acorns, pine cones, autumn leaves and anything else you may find!
Autumn leaves are falling
We hope you enjoy watching it.
