Ludo our School Dog
Meet Ludo, our delightful cockapoo who became a part of our school family in January 2022 at just 10 weeks old. Residing with Mrs. McArdle and her family, Ludo spends 3 or 4 days a week at school, bringing joy and warmth to Barrow. Ludo enjoys visits from children (and staff) that need a little 'Ludo time'. Benefits of Having Ludo in School: Emotional Support: Ludo provides comfort and reduces stress, serving as a furry companion for children and staff. Social Interaction: He fosters social connections, encouraging children to engage with each other in a positive and relaxed setting. Responsibility Learning: Interacting with Ludo teaches children responsibility as they participate in his care routine. Positive Atmosphere: Ludo contributes to a friendly and welcoming environment, promoting a positive school culture. Outdoor Activities: Children take Ludo on walks in the playground, fostering outdoor activities and exercise. Community Building: Ludo joins walks outside of school, including litter picking, promoting community engagement. Educational Opportunities: Children learn new tricks and develop a deeper understanding of animal behaviour.
