UNESCO World Art Day
Celebrated on the birth of Leonardo da Vinci, for our World Art Day, each class looked at different artists from diverse backgrounds.
Reception created some amazing recycled flowers based on the artwork of MIchelle Reader. Year 1 looked at the artwork of Japanese artist Yoyoi Kusama. Year 2 chose British artist David Hockney. Year 3 created recycled artwork inspired by American artist, Virginia Fleck and African artist, El Anatsui, while Year 4 was inspired by Brazilian artist, Beatrize Milhazes. Year 5 chose Chinese artist, Ai Wei Wei, creating recycled material trees and Year 6 chose Phyllida Barlow, working together as a team to create 6 feet tall sculptures, made from recycled materials.
