  • Year 4 visit Blackburn Museum

    🚌✨ What an amazing day! Yesterday the children from Year 4 visited Blackburn Museum and took part in a fantastic Egyptian workshop 🇪🇬🏛️.

    They had the chance to handle real artefacts 🏺, write their names in hieroglyphs ✍️🔣 and even saw a real mummy! 😲💀

    The children were brilliantly behaved and loved learning all about Ancient Egypt. A fun, hands-on experience they won’t forget! 🌟📚

  • The King's Visit

    What a morning our headboy, headgirl and some of the mini police cadets had this morning meeting the King 👑. His majesty shook each child’s hand and spoke to all of them, thanking Megan for the flowers 💐 we had brought for him. We must say a massive thank you to Molly & Huw from Ribble Valley Police for this experience. Also thanks to Slaidburn Silver Band for their outstanding playing throughout the morning. 🎺🥁 a memory to last a lifetime.

  • Interfaith Harmony Week 2026

    The children of Barrow enjoyed taking part in World Interfaith Harmony Week developing their understanding and respect of other religions.  The focus this year was on places of worship with each key stage finding out about a different holy building and taking part in a variety of creative activities over the afternoon.  Reception children also enjoyed a visit from Imam Ubai from Clitheroe mosque.

  • Y6 Houses of Parliament trip

    Year 6 have had an amazing trip to London.  We have had a fantastic tour of the Houses of Parliament to develop our understanding of how laws are made in England.  We have also had lots of excited children on their first ever train or tube ride! 🚊  We especially enjoyed question time with our local MP Jonathan Hinder MP where we asked him about the progress of our zebra crossing.

  • Special visitors

    Local officers PC Molly and PC Hugh visited school to teach us about the British Value Rule of Law. They explained what the law is and what happens when it’s broken.

    To finish, they pretended to arrest Mr Briggs - the children absolutely loved it! 😄

  • Dodgeball at Oakhill

    Miss Fallon and a group of children attended glow in the dark dodgeball at Oakhill. This wasn't about winning; it was about teamwork and honesty. All the children showed the 'Barrow Way' throughout. Respecting and congratulating the opposing teams. We are super proud of them.

    We’re thrilled to share our plans to revamp the EYFS outdoor area! Work starts on Monday 26th January and should take about a week to complete. We’ve even got balance bikes on order and can’t wait for the children to make the space their own.  Over the next two years, we’ll continue to add even more fun and learning opportunities - watch this space!
