Larch Class had a great trip to Blackpool Zoo yesterday to enhance their Science learning this term. They saw many different animals from habitats all around the world. Despite the wet and windy July weather, a great time was had by all.

We are thrilled to announce the introduction of bees to our school community, marking a significant step in our commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability. This initiative offers numerous benefits to both our local ecosystem and our children’s education.

Bees play a crucial role in pollinating plants, which is vital for the health of our environment. By fostering a thriving bee population, we contribute to biodiversity, enhance our school gardens, and support local agriculture. Emphasising the importance of environmental action and responsibility within our educational ethos.

Our children will have the unique opportunity to engage in hands-on beekeeping experiences, guided by experts from 'Let Nature Bee.' This program not only educates children about the vital role of bees but also instills a sense of respect and care for all living creatures. Through these experiences, children will develop a deeper understanding of nature's interconnectedness and their role in preserving it.

In the future, we look forward to the sweet reward of tasting honey produced by our very own bees. This will be a delicious reminder of our collective efforts to nurture and protect the environment. Together, we are making a positive impact on the world, one bee at a time.

Well done girls for showing faith in action. A total of £78.97 has been raised through selling bracelets. This money will be donated to our charity 'Ribble Valley Foodbank' when we visit next week.

Special thanks to the After School Club, Miss Goodwin, and her helpers for tending to our vegetable patch this year. We eagerly anticipate enjoying the fruits of our labour soon! Additionally, we've dedicated a patch specifically for Tiny the Tortoise, brimming with kale and lettuce! 

A huge well done again to our Year 6 STEM team who won first place in the Johnson Matthey  competition. Kate, Tara and Chris came in to present them with a cheque for £250 to be spent on developing STEM within our school.
