This morning the children from Rowan Class led our Maundy Thursday assembly. Year 4 reenacted the story of the Last Supper, shared how Christians celebrate Maundy Thursday and reflected upon what this story teaches us about resilience, forgiveness and love
We had an explosive afternoon of scientific fun at our annual Science Fair. Yet again, the children amazed us with their creativity and scientific knowledge. Well done to all the children who entered!
Today our Year 2 children led a Palm Sunday worship for the rest of school. They re-enacted Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem and told us all about what happened. The children spoke confidently and sang beautifully. Well done Larch Class we are super proud of you all.
Congratulations to all the Barrow swimmers who took part in today's Ribble Valley schools swimming gala. Miss Walker & Mrs Smith could not have been prouder. Every single swimmer swim their best and supported each other throughout. Willow from Beech won GOLD
for her breaststroke & Sophie from Beech & Emmie & Bea from Willow won SILVER
for their medley. Well done to everyone & thank you to the parents cheering us on poolside
Today our Y2 and Y4 children took part in the Easter Experience delivered by Clitheroe URC. The children moved around different stations in the hall learning about and reflecting on the key events of Holy Week. It was a wonderful morning where the events of Easter were brought to life for the children involved. Many thanks to all the members of Clitheroe URC who came into school this morning to deliver the sessions.
This week, our Netball Team worked hard to battle against 5 other teams in a local tournament. Even though we didn't come out on top, we played well as a team and showed amazing perseverance and teamwork when facing some very tough teams.
Eliza from Beech class won silver on Saturday at the Schools ski competition held at Pendle ski slope. What an amazing achievement - well done Eliza
On Thursday 14th March, local author, Faye Evans visited Barrow URC Primary School. She led a super lesson all about her new book Fred - The Fire Breathing Dragon. We listened intently to the story, performed a song and even had a book signing. Her three books will be in the school library for us to all to enjoy.
Today's Ribble Valley Chess Tournament saw local schools showcasing excellent behavior and strategic prowess. Congratulations to Barrow for clinching victory and to Henry for earning the title of Grand Master. Thanks to all participants!
oday some of our Year 6's who made it through to the final of the Johnson Matthey Catalyst challenge WON the overall event.
They had to complete in 12 x 3 minute challenges ranging from Maths, building a radio tower, tent & bridge. The bridge had to hold as many cans of beans as possible. They then had to make a plastercine boat to hold as many 1 pennies as possible - ours held 73p. We are so proud of the children who represented Barrow today - well done to all of you.
Thank you to Oak Class for a wonderful Mother's Day worship this morning. Sharing the moment with mums, grandmas, aunties, and special guests was heartwarming. Their bright presence at the front, singing and speaking confidently, made it truly special for us all. Thank you all for joining us.
