On Friday, every child in the school took part in the Spring Poetry Festival. Each class performed their poem and they were all amazing! Poems included: Snowflake on My Nose, The Gruffalo, When Daddy Fell into the Pond, Boogy Woogy Buggy, Roger the Dog, Little Red Riding Hood and The Dinner Lady Dance. We can't wait for the Summer Poetry Festival.
On Wednesday, the children in Year 4 all designed and made their own Mayan headdresses. Their task was to create the most elaborate headdress, so they could be crowned the High Priest. Following a parade through the school, Mrs McArdle judged the head dresses, and we now have a new High Priest of Rowan Class.
Year 5 have spent this afternoon singing to our local old people. They were in fine voice & brought cheer & happiness to everyone.
Fire Safety Talk: Year 6 were lucky to have a workshop with Lancashire Fire Service. We talked about all the fire safety things we had learnt in Year 2 at our last workshop and then talked about road safety, ready for starting secondary school in September.
Oak class absolutely loved their first school trip to watch ‘Beauty and the Beast’ at the pantomime on Thursday. They were so well behaved and we all had a fantastic time!
