School Pets
At Barrow School, our cherished pets are integral to our school family. Ludo, the playful Cockapoo, brings joy and comfort with his friendly demeanour, creating a positive atmosphere for the children. Tiny, our Horsefield Tortoise, captivates students with his slow and fascinating nature, teaching valuable lessons about responsibility and empathy. We've also introduced two hives of honey bees, highlighting the essential roles all creatures play in God's world. Nugget, Toastie, Cotton Ball and Chicken Licken have just joined us at Barrow. Reception class watched them hatch from their eggs, and we have decided to make Barrow URC School their home. The children will look after the chicken's daily and hopefully, soon, they will start laying eggs for us to share. The bees, along with Ludo, Tiny, Nugget, Toastie, Cotton Ball and Chicken Licken help our children appreciate the importance of biodiversity and the vital contributions animals make to our environment.
