Active Citizens

"Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." - Matthew 5:16

At Barrow, the importance of cultivating active citizens is a fundamental aspect of our curriculum. The concept of being an "active citizen" serves as a guiding principle that threads its way through the school's vision and activities. Each year, we makes a conscious effort to instill this ethos in its children by selecting a charity to support and engaging in various local community initiatives.

This approach goes beyond traditional academic learning, emphasising the practical application of knowledge in the real world. By actively supporting charities and participating in community projects, Barrow encourages its children to be socially responsible and engaged members of their community. Through these experiences, children gain a deep understanding of the significance of giving back and making a positive impact on society. In doing so, we prepare our children not only for academic success but also for a lifelong commitment to being active, responsible, and compassionate citizens.
