Welcome & Vision

Headteacher’s Welcome

 

On behalf of Barrow URC Primary School, I would like to welcome you to our website. I hope it will give you a flavour of our wonderful school.

 

As a church school, our Christian faith underpins all that we do in school. We strive to ensure that children at Barrow are happy and confident individuals who demonstrate the school’s core Christian values: Respect, Honesty, Trust, Love, Peace, Kindness, and Forgiveness. Our vision statement, 'Rooted in God’s love, everyone growing together to be the best that we can be,' reflects two important aspects of our school.

Firstly, we want all the children to be the best that they can be, to achieve in a personal, social, and academic sense and experience success throughout their learning journey. Secondly, we want the children to grow as individuals in a caring and supportive environment and develop into happy, confident, independent, and responsible learners.

 

All our staff work hard to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children. We follow a bespoke curriculum that challenges our children, builds resilience, and educates them to be responsible young citizens.

'Rooted in God’s love, everyone growing together to be the best that we can be'

 

Ephesians chapter 3 verse 17

14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

At Barrow URC Primary School, our school family, including children, parents, staff and governors, live, learn and work by our seven core values. Our values enhance and bring meaning to our vision ‘Rooted in God’s love, everyone working together to be the best that we can be’ and to help ensure that all members of our school family flourish and develop on their own personal journey.  Our 7 core values are; Trust, Kindness, Respect, Love, Honesty, Forgiveness and Peace.
