Our School Badge
The school badge was designed specially to reflect both the community and faith of the school.
The badge represents in symbolic form the vision of the school for us all to be rooted together in God’s love growing to be the best that we can be in every aspect of our lives.
The place name Barrow is believed to come from the old English word meaning at the grove; i.e. at small group of trees.
In the badge there are 3 figures of different sizes that make up a tree.
The three figures show that we grow. They also represent the Trinity showing that we are made in the image of God and that God is at the centre of everything we do.
But to grow we need nutrition and so the trees on the badge grow out of a book; this represents how we learn. But we also grow in other ways than acquiring knowledge; we develop as people, and so the book we grow from also represents the Bible showing how our spirituality and faith grows by learning more about God’s love.
The results of our growing are also shown in what sort of people we become and so the seven fruits on the tree which represent our school values; love, kindness, honesty, respect, forgiveness, peace and trust.
Therefore, it is the whole community who are growing together to be the best that we can be rooted in God’s love.
